Introduction

Broomhill Manor, a family-run collection of luxury holiday cottages in North Cornwall, wanted to refresh its visual identity to better reflect its premium offerings and family-friendly environment. The project involved redesigning the logo and signage across the property, creating a cohesive and modern brand presence that would stand out both on-site and in marketing materials. With facilities like swimming pools, horse riding, and tennis courts, it was crucial to communicate the high-end, activity-rich experience visitors would enjoy.

Research

The research phase focused on understanding the core values of Broomhill Manor and the experience it provides to families. The cottages are nestled in private, scenic grounds, near the award-winning Bude beaches and the South West Coast Path. We analysed competitor visual identities in the luxury holiday cottage market and considered the expectations of families seeking a premium yet relaxed holiday experience.

Insights from this research revealed the need for a logo that encapsulated both the luxury aspect of the cottages and blend with the serene environment while remaining clear and informative for guests.

Process
  1. The logo redesign focused on creating a simple yet elegant mark that would serve as the central element of the visual identity. The "B" became the focal point, designed with a subtle wave motif to reflect the coastal location and proximity to the sea. The typography was kept refined, combining modern serif fonts with an elegant flair, mirroring the sophistication of the cottages.

  2. For the signage, the goal was to ensure that it was both functional and aligned with the new visual identity. The signs were designed to guide guests easily through the property while maintaining a stylish aesthetic that complemented the natural surroundings. We opted for full-colour printed aluminium composite panels for exterior signs, as they offer durability while maintaining a sleek, professional appearance.

  3. The signs included directional guidance for receptioncottages, and facilities, with the new logo consistently displayed for brand reinforcement. Special care was taken to integrate the signage harmoniously into the landscape without disrupting the property’s rustic charm.

Results

The new visual identity brought a modern yet timeless elegance to Broomhill Manor. The updated logo, with its coastal wave accent, became an emblem of the tranquil, family-friendly atmosphere of the cottages. The signage across the property created a seamless experience for guests, blending clarity with style, enhancing both the on-site experience and the brand's marketing efforts.
