Introduction
Manheim, a leading name in vehicle re-marketing and auction services, wanted to create an engaging and memorable presence at the NAPFM Show. To achieve this, they partnered with Giant Leap to design a custom-built stand featuring a racing simulator, intended to attract visitors, promote interaction, and highlight Manheim’s expertise in the automotive industry. The stand aimed to reflect Manheim’s innovative spirit while offering a fun and competitive experience.
Research
Before designing the stand, extensive research was conducted into event engagement strategies. The goal was to find an activity that would not only draw attention but also be in line with Manheim’s automotive branding. The team analysed current trends in exhibition design and visitor interaction, identifying racing simulators as a high-impact tool to foster engagement. Additionally, visitor behaviour at past automotive events was studied to ensure the stand would cater to the right audience, maximising participation and brand awareness.
Process
The process began with conceptualising a stand that would combine eye-catching visual design with an immersive experience. The team collaborated closely with Manheim to ensure the branding elements—such as the bold logo, colour scheme, and key messaging—were prominently integrated into the artwork.
The next step was developing the racing simulator, complete with custom graphic wraps and a themed setup to create a seamless brand experience. The simulator was designed not only for entertainment but also to reinforce Manheim’s leadership in automotive services by incorporating elements like lap-time challenges to foster friendly competition.
To enhance the visitor experience, a Power Timer leaderboard was added, showcasing the top lap times throughout the event. The team also ensured the stand was spacious enough to allow for a comfortable visitor flow, with areas for information exchange and networking alongside the simulator.
Conclusion
The Manheim stand was a huge success at the NAPFM Show, drawing in large crowds eager to participate in the racing simulator challenge. The eye-catching graphics and dynamic simulator setup created a buzz around the stand, generating high levels of visitor engagement. The Power Timer leaderboard encouraged repeat visits as attendees sought to beat the best lap times.
By integrating both entertainment and brand messaging, the stand not only reinforced Manheim’s industry expertise but also left a lasting impression on attendees. The unique and interactive setup increased foot traffic and helped Manheim solidify its presence as a forward-thinking leader in the automotive field.
